My podcast series, Talking About Glaucoma, is available on this page as well as from iTunes in m4a (MP4-AAC) format where you will have complete show notes, chapter markers, and photos http://bit.ly/92EgJc which works great if you are using an iPod or iPhone or an Apple computer but does not always work on Windows PCs and some other MP3 players. Therefore, I have also posted an MP3 version of this series. These do not have the chapter markers or embedded images as those features are only possible using AAC encoding but these still contain the full audio program. I strongly encourage you to try the m4a (AAC) version from iTunes as the version of this series but please feel free to post comments on this page. In addition, if you have a chance to review the podcast on iTunes and tell friends, students, and colleagues about the show it would be most appreciated.

In this episode, Dr Damji and I discuss the use of Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty (SLT) in treating patients with open angle glaucoma. The conversation includes a comparison of this to Argon Laser Trabeculoplasty (ALT), the step-wise approach to treating patients with glaucoma and where the SLT might fit it. We also cover the burning question of the repeatability of this treatment modality as well as its contraindications.
